Carol Williams, CRNP, MSN, RN
Carol has been with Digestive Health Specialists since 2003. Carol received her BSN degree from Troy University in 1985 and MSN/FNP degree in 2002 from the University of South Alabama. Carol worked with Flowers Hospital and Southeast Alabama Medical Center prior to joining Digestive Health. Carol is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Carol dually serves as a Sub-Investigator and Research Director for our research department. Carol also runs the office’s Hepatitis Clinic, which manages and maintains treatments for patients diagnosed with Hepatitis.
Dawn Barnes, RN, MSN, CCRC
Dawn has been with Digestive Health Specialists since 2010. Dawn received her BSN degree from Auburn University in 1992 and her MSN degree from Troy University in 1999. Prior to joining Digestive Health, Dawn worked with Columbus Regional Healthcare Systems as a Research Coordinator and Directions Management Services as a Case Manager. Dawn maintains professional certification as a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. Dawn serves as the Lead Coordinator for most of our trials and helps with the daily management of our clinical trial patients.
Ashley Baxley, RN
Ashley has been with Digestive Health Specialists since 2015. Ashley received her RN degree from Wallace Community College in 2008. Prior to joining Digestive Health, Ashley served as a Clinical Research Coordinator with Alabama Clinical Therapeutics and Registered Nurse with Flowers Hospital. Ashley’s experience with high enrolling studies has helped our research department meet and exceed recruitment with challenging protocols.
Lindsey Hughes, MS
Lindsey has been with Digestive Health since 2018. Lindsey graduated from Troy University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 2007 and with a Master’s degree in Biology in 2014. Prior to joining Digestive Health, Lindsey worked with Southeastern Pediatric Associates and Alabama Clinical Therapeutics as a Clinical Research Coordinator. Lindsey oversees the initiation, regulatory documentation, contractual negotiations, and financial operations of the research department.
